Moon Girl at The Black Shuck Festival Exhibition

Moon Girl is delighted to have been selected for the Black Shuck Festival Exhibition at The Bell Gallery in Bungay.
Every year the festival gets bigger and better with so many brilliant events, shows and performances.
Moon Girl is based on the folk tale called The Dead Moon. A tale from the Fens about when the moon came down to the bogs, is stolen and needs a little help getting out again so she can continue to shine her light. Amongst other strange creatures in the story there are witches riding on cats which of course piqued my interest! Hence they are embroidered on her skirts. She is wired and made from buried fabrics. Fabrics painted by the earth from whence she came. She is hand embroidered with cat clouds, florals and aforementioned witches and carries a bell for when her light is a more of a soft glow :)
The festival itself is on from the 1-3 of August and the exhibition at will run from the 31st July to 16th August. Do come along if you can, there will be so much magic to take in!
